The Directorate of Quality Assurance

The Directorate of Quality Assurance at the Pentecostal Life University (PLU) is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the delivery of services at the institution. The Directorate primarily works to ensure that the preparation of academic programs and the delivery of modules by lecturers is up to the standards of excellence that are expected at the university..

The Internal Quality Assurance System of Pentecostal Life University is underscored by five key tenets of Education Excellence namely learner outcomes, research and innovation; academic services; Social welfare; and university management and administration. Underlying these key tenets are the significant demands for quality of the Programs.

The Directorate of Quality Assurance reviews academic programs. In this regard, the Directorate prepares a schedule indicating when the various academic programs will be reviewed. Once the programs are reviewed, the Directorate works with faculty deans to produce a report to be submitted to college committees and the senate. The Directorate maintains a record of when the programs were reviewed and maintains programs from external examiners.

The Directorate of Quality Assurance is also responsible for Staff Development programs whereby, together with other officials, may decide who among the staff goes for further training, and to train the staff in quality assurance matters.In collaboration with various deans, the Directorate of Quality Assurance coordinates staff performance evaluation by students and analyzes the data with heads of departments every semester.

The Directorate of Quality Assurance coordinates the process of conducting an academic audit and producing a report for the College Academic Board. The Directorate also works with deans of faculties to coordinate and facilitate the process of accrediting various programs. In the same vein, the Directorate collects and distributes information from accrediting bodies, such as the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), and other relevant professional bodies.
